The sandy beach Sciumara, just 300 meters from hotel Altura, is reachable through a path in the vegetation: a deep bay covered by eucalyptus, juniper, arbutus, myrtle and by an oak forest stretching as far as the river side. The sandy shore made up by coarse sands, cream-coloured, is embraced by the green Mediterranean brushwood and by a relaxing oak forest. The beach is called Sciumara (meaning mouth in slang ?Gallurese?) by the inhabitants of Palau, for the mouth of creek accrossing the sandy shore.
