locationThis traditional hotel is located on the "Royal Approach", the historical entrance route to medieval York, which is fairly central to the city centre at just a 15 minute walk to the city walls. Directly next to York Racecourse, the hotel also provides easy access to the A64 the main road in and out of York.
generalA very good hotel which is located not far from the center of York, within walking distance to the city walls. The hotel also has a swimming pool and sauna and is ideal for the leisure traveller. Please note that all areas and rooms are now non-smoking within the hotel.
THE HOTEL DOES NOT ACCEPT SINGLE SEX PARTIES OF OVER 4 PEOPLE AND THESE GROUPS WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY AT HOTEL IF THIS POLICY IS NOT ADHERED TO. (KB 03/08)
lobbyThe lobby area is very small, but there is a medium sized area for guests to sit with a bar where tea and coffee are also served. Recently refurbished in a more modern style the bar area is perfectly for relaxing after a hard-day exploring York.
exteriorTraditional townhouse building with parking available onsite.
restaurantThe restaurant is traditional in style and serves English food.
roomsThe bedrooms are all of different shapes and sizes due to the style of the building, however there is also an annexe that has been added on to the property. The majority of the rooms are of a medium size and are in a fair condition. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV, direct dial telephone and tea/ coffee facilities. Most have views over the racecourse and clients are allocated either a room in the original townhouse or the annexe.
