Independent Report
generalExcellent standard for its category, fantastic location. Recommended. CQ 02/07
lobbyThe lobby is very small with a tiny reception desk, on the left there are the stairs that lead to the rooms.
exteriorIn the 19th century, the building was a textile workshop and it later became an inn for the Turkish tradesmen arriving in Venice for commercial deals with the Republic of Venice “the Serenissima”. In 1887 the seat of the local newspaper “Il Gazzettino” was established in the building next door; which is how the name was founded.
restaurantThe restaurant offers specialities of Venetian cuisine, both meat and fish. These typical Venetian dishes and also international cuisine are served at lunch and dinner in a finely furnished and characteristic dining room. The restaurant is decorated with old newspapers on the walls, photos of stars from the past century, and a valuable map of Venice.
roomsThe rooms, with bathroom and air conditioning, overlook a characteristic canal, where guests can admire the passing gondolas. All rooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard, more in keeping with a 3-star category.
locationThe hotel is located in Venice's downtown, between S.Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. It is a short walk away from the Mercerie, the street with the most exclusive shops.
