Twizel is located on the main highway betwen Christchurch and Queenstown. Its a township that was developed during the pioneering era of the South Island. Located just 60 km from Mount Cook National park and the mountain of the same name. The area is great for outdoor sports and activities in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.
rooms
The deluxe rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious and have floor to ceiling sliding doors with picure balcony. The bedding configuration is 2 x executive double beds. they also have coffee tables and comfortable chairs for relaxing after a hard day ! All rooms have shower over bathtub. Facilities include Satellite TV, Hairdryer and direct dial telephones. Room service is available only between 07:00 and 20:30. All deluxe rooms are non-smoking.
restaurant
The large dining room serves both buffet and a'la carte meals and the restaurant can prepare packed lunches for guests making the most of the activites.
exterior
A modern two storey stone and glass building which blends in well with the surrounding area.
lobby
A medium size lobby and lounge area. There is a huge log fire in winter!
general
A great place to enjoy a break in the wilderness of the Mount cook region. There is a golf course adjacent to the hotel, great fishing, mountain biking etc. If these activities are too tame, try gliding at Omarama, or helicopter trips to the glaciers. SE0908
