general
A highly recommended hotel in the superior tourist category. Providing excellent value for money and a good location within walking distance to Raffles Shopping Centre, Bugis shopping centre and Marina area. sg 09/08
lobby
Reception lobby is on the second level of the hotel. The check-in counter is immediately right from the escalator. Some sofas are available further in the walkway. There is also a little lounge facing the counter.
exterior
The hotel has a new modern facade facing Victoria Street. In red granite and mirrored glass, the facade is distinctive on the street especially when the other buildings are of low rise.
restaurant
The cafe is located on the ground floor, the entrance is almost under the escalator to the lobby level. In here breakfast are served, local and western cuisine are available for lunch and dinner. Ah-Yat Restaurant is runs by tenant and is popular among the locals for their abalone dishes.
rooms
The newly renovated Executive room has contemporary decor. The room has large window to bring in natural day light. The comfortable queen size bed sit in front a large dark brown wooden panel with silver flower motif in the center. Each room is featured with air-conditioning, private bath/shower, cable TV, direct dial phone, ironing facilities, in-room safe, mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities. Effective 01Jun10, all rooms are NON SMOKING ROOM.
location
The hotel is located on Victoria Street in what is known as the civic district. So called because it was the seat of the colonial government. Within the area one can find some historical architecture like the Raffles Hotel, the National Museum, the Arts Museum, CHIJMES, St Andrew's Cathedral, the Archbishop residence and several churches. Conveniently located 5 minutes from the City Hall MRT station.
