Amara Sanctuary sits on the site of the historic British Sergeants Quarters that were built in the 1930s. Two of the building are conserve colonial heritage buildings which now houses the Verandah and Courtyard suites. The resort has its own tennis court, jogging track and three outdoor pools. The roof-top infinity pool overlooking the ocean is reserved exclusively for adult guests. The resort is secluded in the lush greens of the island's tropical garden, offer an exotic and exclusive stay for its guest. The minimalist design lobby is medium in size, has high ceiling, full length glass bringing in the natural day light and limited sitting area.

Set in 3.5 hectares of lush tropical greenery with two block of white wash two storey colonial building, a new contemporary low rise buildings, a low rise building with glass facade that house the conference rooms and a all glass wedding chapel.
restaurant
Shutters, the resort's chick restaurant serves contemporary Asian and Western dishes. One could enjoyed authentic Thai cuisine at award-winning Thanying. The 13-seat Sibon was formally a small chapel, offering Japanese kushiage and the seafood is available at Silk Road Of The Sea at the beach house.
rooms
The rooms are housed within a two-storey heritage building situated on top of a small hill that allow guests to enjoy the nature. Rooms are measured from 57 to 70 sqm with creams and dark browns to blend in the resort's natural tropical setting, each room with an outdoor courtyard with a Jacuzzi in its own private garden. Coffee/tea making facilities, bathrobe and DVD player are equipped.
