The hotel was originally built in 1927 by an eccentric european baroness as her personal resort, it is nestled among 25 acres of Monterey pines.

The hotel is located midway between Los Angeles and san francisco and sits on a hilltop overlooking the village of Cambria, 5 minutes walking to downtown, an hour driving to airport and train station.
