Independent Report
exteriorOne can enter the building from two different streets, and there is a courtyard in the middle. The hotel is split into four sections; it is, in fact, made up of several buildings dating back to the Middle Ages. Wooden beams are prominent throughout this attractive historical property.
lobbyThe lobby is small to medium in size. The reception area is dominated entirely by wood and is therefore very warm and welcoming.
generalThis is a unique hotel in that it has retained its historical image and also forms an excellent 3-star product in the centre of Riga.
restaurantThe traditional restaurant boasts some of the finest cuisine in town. It is small and the atmosphere/decoration similar to the rest of the hotel.
roomsRooms vary in size, due to the nature of the buildings. Many have wooden beams in the centre and across the ceilings and therefore retain their character. They are relatively simple in design and painted white, which contrasts nicely with the wooden floors and furniture. The bathrooms, although small, are adequate and again white. Like the rooms, they are in very good condition.
locationThe hotel is found in the centre of old Riga, down a small side street. The location is perfect for discovering small picturesque buildings dating back many centuries.
