locationThe only hotel situated on the beachfront in a tranquil location between San Conrado and Ipanema Beaches. Just above it lie the hills, which are very green and scenic and offer a contrast to the ocean at the front of the hotel. Although all beaches in Rio are public, because of its unique and solitary position the beach it seems to be a private beach.
roomsThe majority of the rooms are large and in a very good condition. The remaining 20 percent of the rooms are suites and are large and in excellent condition. Decor is modern throughout, and light colours predominate. The large windows in each room give a lot of light. The rooms have carpeted floors throughout. All rooms have sea views.
restaurantThe hotel has three restaurants. Two are poolside restaurants, one pizzeria and one barbecue. The main restaurant is to be found on the 5th floor overlooking the sea. It serves international and local cuisine.
exteriorThis is a modern purpose-built construction.
lobbyThe lobby is very large and modern. It has separate reception and concierge areas, and a couple of lounge/bar areas overlooking the sea, where music is played six nights a week. There is also a large array of boutiques selling everything from jewellery to sunbathing products.
generalThis is one of the best hotels in the whole of Rio. It is within walking distance to Ipanema and Leblon. It has an enormous range of services and facilities, as one would expect from a deluxe hotel - from swimming pools, tennis court and saunas to piano bars. (05/09 RC)
