The Hotel is situated on the hill overlooking Portofino, one of the most prestigious Italy seaside resort, fully surrounded by a mediterranean park, with lots of flowers, evergreen plants, trees and bushes.

Large sized, rooms are finely decorated with delicated pastel colours, parquet floor, light wood charming furniture. Most of rooms have balcony or terrace overlooking the bay or the most intimate parts of the village of Portofino.

La Terrazza restaurant offers a large variety of refined Ligurian and Italian tradition dishes, in the magnificent inner hall or on the terrace where guests can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view. Built as a medieval monastery, strategically located on top of the hill to enjoy the whole magnificent view of the below sea. At the beginning of twentieth century, Baron Baratta took over what remained of the ancient monastery and restored to a summer residence. Only in a second time, the villa, was transformed from a private residential house into the Hotel. Since its opening, the hotel welcommed famous personalities, such as the Duke of Windsor and rewarded and famous actors and actresses such as Elizabeth Taylor, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart who were hotel guests, attracted either by the Ligurian sea and by the charm of this gorgeous structure.

Enchanting medium sized area, the lobby has black and white chess marble floor, white stucco arches and classical and elegant furniture in walnut wood.
