pleasenote
The bedrooms hotel Beauchamps boasts 89 bedrooms. Spread across six floors with various decors and categories, bedrooms all have views onto either the rue de Ponthieu or the rue du Colisee or onto a courtyard. The bedrooms are in one of three dominant tones: copper, sand or celadon. In the majority of rooms a large fabric reproduction of a Victor Hugo drawing covers a whole wall, behind the bed head. The other walls are cream coloured, complementing the carpet in saffron and khaki tones. A small wooden cupboard, in Chinese coral lacquer waits to hold clothes and valuable accessories (minibar, safe etc). The high comfortable beds have white duvets, a braided bedspread and tailored cushions adding effect to the tone. Articulated bedside lamps frame a bed, rather like an artist?s workshop and the furniture is equally as simple; a cedar wood desk with simple lines, a contemporary armchair and a plain lamp. White nets and double curtains drape the windows. A mirrored sliding door enlarges the space and opens into the bathroom. The rooms are equipped with a shower or a bath.
general
Hotel Beauchamps tells a story about an imaginative, scholarly arts collector, with a passion for art and travel named Baltazar Beauchamps. The hotel was his private home. His objects and his works have been set out as decoration.
lobby
The lobby is spacious and elegant with a majestic wooden reception desk and comfortable seating. It is tastefully decorated and furnished. A huge glass atrium roof provides plenty of natural light enhancing the bright and welcoming atmosphere.
exterior
The lobby is inspired by the artist Mondrian with a 30?s Far East theme. The dominant tones: red and gold. Two walls of the lobby are adorned with gold woodwork. A large console in purple wood and red lacquer is used as the reception desk. In the centre, four large armchairs in red lacquer encircle a 60?s plastic and glass table sculpture. Space is broken up by contemporary artefacts, found on purple wood bolsters or hung on the walls: statuettes, sculptures, suspensions, photographs..
restaurant
The Beauchamps Hotel boasts the restaurant ?Velvet by the Bistrot d?Antoine?, which is open to external clients. Recently relaunched by a talented chef from nice, the Velvet restaurant welcomes its guests in a bright, contemporary atmosphere with a ?Bistrot-chic?, elegant, intimate style. Food wise, the Velvet offers a straightforward, instinctive cuisine, which is therefore tasty, with regional accents often, but not always, from the Mediterranean.
rooms
The rooms are small and of a very good standard. They are cosy, well decorated and furnished. Air-conditioning is available in some rooms, however.
location
Just steps from the Champs Elysees Avenue, between the chic Rue du Faubourg St Honore & the Montaigne Avenue, hotel Beauchamps is perfectly situated in this glamorous quartier of Paris, an ideal base for shopping, dining and sightseeing
