Independent Report
locationLocated in Nuwara Eliya, most well-known for its tea plantations and as a retreat from the heat of the coast.
roomsRooms are large and in good condition, with lots of windows opening up for views of the gardens. The decor is neutral with floral accents and each room features satellite television, telephone, piped-in music, and tea/coffee making facilities.
restaurantThe restaurant serves international and local cuisine, and also has large windows overlooking the gardens.
exteriorThis property is an old tea plantation set 6,800 feet above sea level surrounded by verdant mountainside.
lobbyThe hotel lobby is atrium-style and was once where the where the drying process of the tea leaves took place. Two large wooden fans on the ceiling remind guests that the bedrooms now housed at the top used to be large lofts of the factory.
generalSurrounded by tea plantations and hills, Nuwara Eliya has spring like weather year-round and is a perfect reprise from the humidity and heat of the coast. Guests would be hard pressed to find a property with such a history as this. TO/0108
