generalOne of the best resorts in Kenya with an excellent reputation and 200 metres of beautiful beach front, the longest seafront on the north coast of Mombasa. The main outdoor swimming pool is huge and stretches out into different directions with shallow parts suitable for children. There is a water sports shop and office where guests can organise snorkelling and scuba diving. A children's club is available as is a baby sitting service. There is a variety of entertainment every night. Lastly, a spa has recently opened that features both Ayurvedic and western treatments. The rates given are on an all inclusive basis. TO/0709
lobbyThe large lobby is open plan and has marble floor and a seating area for guests.
exteriorA beachfront property, the Whitesands is spread out over 22 acres of landscaped gardens. The 3 storey buildings are painted bright white with many of the blocks right on the sand beaches.
restaurantThere are three restaurants at the resort. The large main restaurant offers a huge buffet with a wide variety of food to choose from. There is also a beach front restaurant that specialises in fresh seafood as well as a cafe/diner that serves food 24 hours a day.
roomsStandard rooms are in good condition and have tiled floors and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms have air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, fan, tea/ coffee making facilities and balcony or terrace. Most rooms offer a pool view. Room rates are on an all-inclusive basis.
