Situated in Sandton in the business part of the city. There is a courtesy minibus to Sandton shopping centre on pre-arrangement.

All the rooms & bathrooms are large & of a very high standard. Dark colours are used throughout & all rooms are of the normal high standard of Crowne Plaza properties.

Two seperate restaurants both located on the ground floor. One serves Thai cuisine, the other which is also the breakfast room serves international cuisine. In the hotel lobby there is also a small coffee shop that offers snacks.

Medium in size & modern in both design & decor, the reception has large windows making the whole area very bright. There is a seperate reception & guest service area & it also incorporates a large seating lounge & bar area as well as a souvenir shop. There is white marble floor throughout & dark wood reception desk behind with is a small aquarium.

The Holiday Inn Soweto occupies a prime position alongside a park, authentic 300-stalls marketplace, about 17 shops and offices and a multipurpose centre. In addition, it will also feature a tourist office, an open-air museum and a variety of native restaurants. The hotel would offer all the luxury and comfort of any 4-star hotel but the difference was that the Holiday Inn Soweto is geared to blend in with the reality of life in Kliptown in the 50s. Even the architecture of today reflects that of the 50s township style. It offers full services such as a restaurant, tastefully designed and decorated to reflect the past, while merging with a contemporary, authentically African lifestyle, with entertainment area where local musicians perform. Rooms are decorated in an African style with warm colours complemented by local arts and crafts. Attention to detail will enhance the ambience with the TV on top of an old radiogram style unit and walls decorated with newspaper clippings of the great events from Soweto past.
