Independent Report
generalThe hotel is very well located for the city centre, shopping and transport. Overlooking the River Ness, this is a stunning location for views of the castle and the historic building of Inverness. (10.08rt)
lobbyThe lobby is medium in size with ample seating and a sweeping staircase that leads to the upper bedrooms.
exteriorThe hotel is a beautiful old building in the same style as the castle. It has spires and stonework which create a enlightening sense of tradition. Built in 1890, the building was originally Ness House, a traditional Scottish Mansion.
restaurantThe restaurant offers both table d'hote and a la carte menus serving a selection of both Scottish Fayre and European cuisine, with an independent coffee shop on site.
roomsThe bedrooms are all well furnished with simple contemporary decor. All rooms have high ceilings and each is a unique shape and size as one would expect from a historic building. Generally rooms are of a good condition. The newer extention to the rear of the hotel boasts rooms with a more modern decor whilse those at the front tend to have maintained a feel closer to that of the original house.
locationThis hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Inverness. It sits on the banks of the River Ness and is directly across from the Castle. The hotel is the beautiful 1890's Ness House, a traditional Scottish Mansion which at one point in it's history was a the officers quarters for those soldiers attached to the castle. It is a few minutes walk from the main shopping precinct and a five minute drive from Inverness train station.
