The hotel offers a relaxed stay in the centre of Harrogate. The hotel is completely non-smoking throughout including both bedrooms and public areas. (KB 02/08)
lobby
The lobby area is of a medium / large size with a seating area available. The hotel is now modern in style since its refurbishment in 2006. The public areas have elegant leather sofas and maintain their ornate ceilings marbled pillars, but with dark blue colours.
exterior
Originally built in 1740 as a coaching inn and maintained its reputation of excellent hospitality and attentive service. Car parking is no longer available but a 24 hour car park is situated just a 2 minute walk from hotel. The hotel has a landmark location on the historical square in this pretty town.
restaurant
The hotels has two restaurants - the Churchill Suite which offers a large hot buffet breakfast for guests, in a bright and welcoming atmosphere. For lunch and dinner "the Place" restaurant is available offering a modern European menu in a more intimate setting, decorates in warm plum colours & the added comfort of sofas to relax on.
rooms
Newly refurbished in 2006, the rooms are now modern and simplistic in design in deep purple colours. Rooms are of a medium size and have clean white bathrooms. Size and space differs from room-to-room due to the age of the building, but this only adds to the charm of the building. Original windows and other features ensure you are provided with a comfortable yet memorable stay. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities including, flat screen tv's and modem points, as well as comforts such as tea and coffee making facilities and iron/ironing boards.
location
The hotel is situated in the centre of Harrogate situated next to the Royal pump room. Located in the antique quarter the hotel is a few minutes from the Harrogate International Centre and a 2 minute walk from the famous Betty's restaurant. Also located closed to the major road networks giving access to historical York and vibrant Leeds for shopping.
