generalThis is the playground of Malaysia and it can be said that no visit to Malaysia is complete without a trip to the Genting Highlands Resort. There is something for everybody here and there is no reason not to visit. A mere 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, transport is readily available thru GTA or the hotels. The Genting Hotel is the best hotel on the hill and is of a very high standard (the Highland Hotel is reserved for casino members only). The club rooms are very exclusive and is especially suitable for honeymooners. The cool hill environment is a quick getaway from the heat and humidity of the city. (RO/0707)
lobbyThe lobby area is segregated from the hustle and bustle of the complex. Check in is via ample counters. The floors are finished in green marble with faux marble pillars. There is a prominent fountain of two elephants near the six lifts.
exteriorThe hotel has three wings in a radiating pattern. The top is a circular observation deck with the logo and the elevation stating 6000 feet above sea level. As all the buildings are whitewashed they are hard to tell apart one from the other.
restaurantThere are more than 80 food and beverage outlets serving the Genting complex to cater to every whim and fancy. Howver, within the vicinity of the hotel is the fine dining Peak restuarant in the circular obeservation deck and a 24hrs food court style cafe serving local delicacies downstairs.
roomsThe rooms face out to the either the theme park or carpark. In most evenings, a strong cloud cover descends and visibility is very magically transformed to a winter scene. The club floor is cordoned off by a keycard entry from the lift lobby. Due to the myriad of expensive art pieces, this exclusive floor is unfortunately limited to adults only. The rooms are very luxurious with a round jacuzzi tub that sits next to the bed. The glass wall seperates the bathroom from the bedroom.
locationCentrally located at the peak and in the midst of the activities, the Genting hotel is the premier hotel for visitors at the resort. The hotel is distinguishable from the other hotels from the round observation deck and the red Genting logo on the top. Not that it matters, as most walking will be done indoors where ample signages exists.
