generalAlthough its location is not the best in Essaouira, this should not be an obstacle to booking this hotel, as guests will enjoy its service, price and quality. Again, it is a short drive by car or a cheap petite taxi ride to the centre of La Medina. This hotel is recommended. (11/08 SB)
lobbyThe reception is large, decorated in Moorish style that attemps to invoke the feeling of a traditional Moroccan palace.
exteriorThe exterior looks like a traditional low-rise building, although it is new construction.
restaurantWith two restaurants, the hotel covers the traditional Moroccan food , such as tagines and cous-cous- but also offers international dishes. The hotel also offers fairly good room service.
roomsThe rooms are like a small buildings- trying to imitated the traditional Riads - all around the fantastic pool. The 140 rooms and 16 suites all have heating, en-suite bathrooms, satellite television, telephone and personal safes (for an extra cost). The rooms are medium-sized and comfortable. Although it is not profusely decorated, they are done in taste and give a good impression. The bathrooms, again, are good in size.
locationThis 6-year-old hotel is only 200 metres from the seaside and marina of Essaouira and is surrounded by greenery and the nearby woods just on the edge of the town, along the road to Agadir. The hotel has easy access and its own private car park. It's just 3 minutes' driving to the old Medina and not more than a nice 30-minute walk.
