generalTraditional in character and charm, although a recently refurbished brings the best in modern, comfortable lodgings. Away from the hotel guests will find the delights of Edinburgh and the majesty of the surrounding Midlothian countryside. Close to the hotel is also Glencorse golf course of Penicuik which is an 18 hole moorland/parkland course on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The course is over 110 years old and many of the original green sites remain in use today. (KB 08/07)

exteriorThe hotel was originally built in 1824 and is set across 3 floors with car parking for guests. The hotel is set in landscaped gardens, perfect for walks.
restaurantThe hotel has a relaxing Conservatory Restaurant catering for all tastes and dietary requirements. After enjoying your meal, why not retire to the oak panelled lounge bar and enjoy a few drinks in front of the fire place, from the well stocked bar. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to experience traditional Scottish cuisine.
roomsThe accommodation comprises 18 en-suite bedrooms, including three junior suites completed by relaxing Jacuzzi bathtubs. Rooms are furnished with antiques yet bed linen and curtains provide a more neutral and up to date design. Rooms are generally of a medium size, but differ due to the age of the building.
