The hotel is situated near the centre of Dumfries and is approximately one and a half hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The nearest railway station is a quarter of a mile away.
rooms
The hotel has 91 bedrooms, most being medium in size but some are quite small. The rooms are in a fair condition and are very clean. The decor consists of floral prints and lightly coloured fabrics.
restaurant
The Reivers is a well presented, fine-dining restaurant and offers modern European cuisine. Large in size the restaurant can serve over 100 people. The hotel also has a second restaurant again well presented but less formal in style and offering a good standard of traditional cuisine.
exterior
This is a traditional hotel which has 3 floors. The building is made of red brick and has a small Parking area at the front.
lobby
The hotel lobby is small with a few chairs and a reception desk. There is just enough room for one group to check-in together. The decor is also traditional and is in theme with the rest of the hotel.
general
The hotel provides regular entertainment including dinner dances. The barracuda club offers a swimming pool, Spa Bath, gym and steam room. This is a good hotel, suitable for groups or fit's. Report taken from website 10/06 KB
