The Resort is situated along Ligurian Eastern Riviera, in a 15 hectares' protected area rich in pine-trees and mediterranean maquis (an average of 800 sq.m. for each guest and a sea coast of 1 km). The microclimatic features of La Francesca are due to its favourable position facing South and protected from the North winds. Medium temperatures, in fact, during the coldest months seldom fall below 10° and weather is dry and sunny for most of the year and windy in Summer. La Francesca is a self-sufficient settlement, where you can spend your time with no hurry or constraint. Tourists, who nowadays are more and more desirous to discover landscapes, scents and natural flavours, find in La Francesca the ideal place for a stay in all seasons.

If you feel like cooking at home, you can find provisions at the minimarket: fresh milk, Ligurian focaccia, vegetables and cheese, all of local production. In Summer, the small bar next to the playground is children and teen-agers' meeting-place for evening activities.

La Francesca's vegetation is strictly dependent on soil features. Evergreens predominate, both in the forest vegetation as well as in the characteristic Mediterranean maquis and can be found on the rocks by the sea or in the underbrush of the pinewoods. Their tough, glossy leaves allow to limit water waste during Summer. Myrtle, buckthorn and lentisk adopt this strategy to survive; while heather, rosemary and juniper limit transpiration by reducing leaves. Walking in the park at the hottest time of the day we can perceive strong flavours: they are the sweet-smelling transpirations of the essential oils which allow aromatic plants to breathe.

From the large terrace overlooking the sea, the view extends to the horizon in one of the most beautiful in Italy. Inside the entrance to the dining room is highlighted by two massive wooden columns with carved capitals from an ancient temple in Tamil Nadu, in India, while the impressive bar counter (weighing ten tons) is calculated by a monolithic block of red marble from Levanto. The sight and imagination to open up the colors and scents of distant lands, warm and harmonious suggestions ranging from India to Latin America, along with pieces by Italian artists.

Apartment Type A: Four apartments, at the first floor of the central building, with balcony overlooking the orange-trees' garden. Double-room with a sofa-bed, entrance with kitchenette, bathroom. The ideal for young couples. Under bungalows are situated in the centre of the Village, at the lower floor of two-level cottages (30 sq.m). From the large terrace glances range from the coast to the sea. Upper bungalows, seven terraced cottages located in the upper side of the Village. They face westwards on the mimosas wood - a large, shady and flat area - and eastwards on the Gulf of Levanto.(25 sq.m).
location
Resort La Francesca is located in a bay facing the sea with three beautiful little gulfs, close to the Sea Park of the Cinque Terre. A wide, protected area between Punta Mesco and Riomaggiore, designated to preserve biodiversity and habitat and characterized by alternating rocky and sandy bottoms, which boast an interesting marine fauna and rich meadows of Posidonia. The sea-area before the Village has been included in the Cetacean's Sanctuary, created to safeguard and protect dolphins'and whales' passage. In the small bay with crystal-clear water it is nice to enjoy a sea holiday far from noise and crowds, swim into the depths or sunbathe under the gazebo. For children there is a special swimming pool by the sea.
