lobby
The lobby is spacious and elegant with marble flooring. You get a real sense of elegance and class the moment you walk into the hotel.
exterior
The hotel was originally opened in 1865 and is now a Grade 2 listed building of historic and architectural interest. The exterior is an immensely distinctive black and white timbered facade. This very much belies the modern elegance of the hotel interior.
restaurant
There are two superb restaurants: The Arkle - which has been awarded again a Michelin Star for the 18th consecutive year - is open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, serving contemporary dining in an atmosphere of supreme elegance. It also features one of the most extensive wine cellars in England. The adjoining Library and Archive are ideal for pre-dinner drinks, morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea.
