generalThe Falstaff Hotel has been a focus for hospitality in Canterbury for over 600 years. A traditional 15th century coaching inn, the hotel is steeped in history. Over the years the hotel has been extended through conversions on an adjacent Wood Mill and a former pub, The Tap. GH 02/10
lobbyThe lobby is very small yet welcoming.
exteriorThis is a traditional brick building, which is farmhouse in design. The hotel dates back to the 16th century with the original buildings being erected in 1403.
restaurantThe bar opens out onto a pretty outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy a drink in the summer months. The hotel offers a cooked full English breakfast, but no lunch or dinner service, however, there are numerous excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel
roomsAll rooms have en-suite bathrooms and facilities including: hairdryer, trouser press, direct-dial telephone, satellite television, radio, and tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms are comfortably furnished with dark wood furniture. Bedrooms in the original property include period features such as beams, wood paneling and fireplaces. In the Tap rooms and the Old Woodmill, bedrooms are of a more contemporary style. Some rooms overlook the pretty courtyard garden whilst others overlook St Dunstan's Street, North Street, the River Stour and the Westgate Tower.
