general
This hotel is a charming deluxe property, decorated in a very traditional style. In comparison with other properties of the same standard in Basel, this hotel has a particularly cosy atmosphere. RY 03/08
lobby
The small lobby is bright, and with its high ceilings and marble floors, is rather grand in appearance. Leading off from the lobby area are several tables and comfortable chairs forming a kind of lounge area, where guests can meet and relax at their leisure.
exterior
The exterior of the building is very traditional in style. Its light blue facade makes it stand out from many of the other buildings in the area.
restaurant
The main restaurant is decorated in a very elegant fashion and specialises in French cuisine. When the weather is warm enough, the hotel opens its terrace restaurant, which is particularly popular with the locals. The hotel also has a cosy, traditionally furnished piano bar.
rooms
The suites are all pleasantly decorated in a traditional manner. They underwent a full renovation in 2007 and are now in exceptional condition, as are the bathrooms.
location
This hotel is situated in the heart of Basel, just a short stroll from the main railway station.
