generalThis hotel, undergoing renovations on the facade and some floors until September 2007 meaning some nuisance may occur, has incorporated a brand new fully equipped Fitness Centre and sauna to be open in the first months of 2006. Le Meridien is still the only hotel of its category located in Las Ramblas, and its unique position makes it an unforgettable experience for those who wants to be in the Gothic quarter with the maximum comfort and level of service . 12/05 dv
lobbyThe lobby is spacious and extremely elegant in decor, with fine highly polished marble floors and an incredible reception desk made with fine white marble and superb carved wooden panels.
exteriorThis hotel has a renovated facade, with an excellent mixture of sandstone window arches and soft terracota coloured walls.
restaurantThe restaurant is very luxurious and well decorated with traditional furnishings and a dark blue tailor made carpet, grand regency style chairs with soft pale blue fabric. The tables are perfectly dressed with silver service, crystal glasses and porcelain crockery. The menu is international with the finest selection of wines and spirits.
In summer 05 a new restaurant&bar will open right on the famous Boulevard "Las Ramblas".
roomsAll 233 rooms and suites (09 out of them are Mediterranean suites all with a magnificent terrace) are undergoing a full refurbishment into a new interior design as a blend between modern and traditional, where classic materials are used in contemporary lines. The new "meridien bed", the rain shower and the 42 inch plasma screen stand out for themselves. There is also a 15 inch LCD in the bathroom, high speed internet access, tea and coffee making an in-room ironing facilities.
A specially designed carpet which features the street plan of the city's "eixample" is an unique item which provides a feeling of Barcelona.
