A fantastic addition to Auckland hotels. Opened in April 2005, and designed to provide additional high quality rooms for conferences or higher budget leisure guests who want to be close to the Casino and other city centre facilities.The Club rooms add an extra layer of luxury in an already truly luxurious city hotel. lobby
A large and grand lobby with marble like classical columns and a full service bar.
exterior
The hotel is newly built of steel and glass. The hotel conference centre facilities, including one room with a thousand person capacity are located below the main hotel.
restaurant
There is one fine dining restaurant called Dine- by Peter Gordon. The breakfast restaurant called, The Terrace. Within two minutes walk of the Skycity Grand hotel there is five other restaurant outlets in the main SkyCity complex.
rooms
All club rooms are located on the top three floors allowing for the best harbour/city views with large panoramic windows. The club room facilities include; a full continental breakfast in the club lounge, including full cold buffet selection, also every evening wines of New Zeland are served with canapes in the club lounge, and finally two garments per person pressed complimentary on each night of stay. All rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished. The hotel opened in April 2005, so all rooms are brand new. All normal room inclusions such as mini-bar , tea/coffee facilties , TV with cable channels.
location
Central city, and across the road from the main SkyCity complex, including all its restaurants and casino outlets. There is an airbridge between The Grand and the main Skycity complex. The hotel has two street entrances, main entrance is 90 Federal Street, the other entrance is Albert Street.
