In 1918 this property had the Italian General Staff with the Chief Italian commander General Diaz and his companion in arms General Badoglio billeted for a long time. In this luxury landmark hotel of Abano, was written one of the most glorious pages of the Italian modern history when in 1918 the General Diaz concluded the armistice celebrating victory of Italy over Austria Hungary.
